Parliament has adjourned its Special Sitting today until Tuesday, 4 August 2026, at 2:00 p.m., after unanimously adopting a motion paying tribute to the late Gen. (Rtd) Moses Ali, the former Second Deputy Prime Minister and Member of Parliament for Adjumani West.
The special sitting, chaired by Speaker Jacob Oboth-Oboth, brought together legislators from across the political divide to honour Gen. Ali's distinguished service to Uganda.
Members of Parliament praised Gen. Ali for his contributions to the country's liberation struggle, peace-building efforts, and national development, particularly in the West Nile sub-region. They also recognised his decades of service in government and Parliament, describing him as a dedicated patriot and statesman.
Following the adoption of the motion, the House adjourned and is scheduled to reconvene on Tuesday, 4 August 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
