Unidentified assailants attack, a security guard and rob a firearm at Kashenyi SACCO

Police in Bushenyi District are investigating an aggravated robbery incident in which unidentified assailants attacked a security guard and made off with a firearm at Kashenyi SACCO in Ishaka Division.

The Greater Bushenyi Regional Police spokesperson, SP Apollo Tayebwa said that the incident occurred in the early hours of today, at around 3:30 a.m. at Kashenyi SACCO located in Kashenyi II Cell, Kashenyi Ward, Bushenyi Municipality.

According to Tayebwa, four unidentified attackers armed with pangas and sticks allegedly stormed the premises and attacked a security guard attached to Global Link Security Services, a private security company, while he was on duty.

The victim, identified as 28-year-old Karamuzi Aron, reportedly sustained injuries to the head and knee during the attack before the suspects robbed him of a pump-action rifle loaded with three rounds of ammunition. Karamuzi was rushed to KIU Teaching Hospital where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
