News desk 28/4/2026
The Police in Hoima are holding two suspects in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a woman. The suspects have been identified as Ayesiga Kakiza and Nasir Kiiza, both residents of Hoima city.

They reportedly raided the home of Judith Aganyira in Lusaka Cell, armed with knives, threatened to kill her, and demanded more than ten million shillings.

It is alleged that they kidnapped Aganyira and later dumped her in a nearby bush in Kyarwabuyamba cell within Hoima city. Aganyira reportedly alerted her mother by telephone. Her mother reported the matter to Hoima Central Police.

Police launched a rescue operation, and Aganyira was later found dumped in Kyarwabuyamba. Her face was covered with a cloth, her hands and legs tied with cloth. She was rescued unharmed.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, told Uganda Radio Network (URN) in an interview on Tuesday that since then, the flying squad detectives have been deployed on the ground tracking the suspects until they were apprehended.

He says both suspects have admitted to their involvement in the kidnapping of the Aliganyira. According to Hakiza, the suspects reportedly used a master key to gain entry into Aganyira’s house.

He says, once police investigations are through, the suspects who are currently being detained at the Hoima city central police station will be arraigned before the court to be charged accordingly.
